2019 Kick Off!

The Dude is BACK! The Dude Hates Cancer is kicking off its 14th(!) annual fundraising campaign by straight up throwing axes at stuff. Come join us as we get together, literally throw axes at stuff, and raise money to fight blood cancers.

Where: Urban Axes, 2019 E. Boston Street, Philadelphia, PA 19125
When: June 24th from 7:00 to 9:30pm. But get there early so we can get you all signed up and you can get something to eat and a beer.
Cost: $50 a person, which includes the following: axe throwing, sandwiches donated by Jersey Mike’s sub shop, and up to 4 beers donated by Conshohocken Brewing. This fee also includes a $17 donation going straight to The Dude to fight cancer as we start our season.

Bring friends! But – this is a limited-entry event – so you must RSVP to Stefanie at stefanie@thedudehatescancer.com. Don’t want to throw axes? You should still go. Spectator tickets are $20 and still come have food and beer and support the cause!

Also during kick off, you’ll be able to enter an awesome raffle AND register your team for our bowling tournament main event on September 21! It will be the last day to get the early bird registration rate at $300 per team, so this is your chance to eat a hoagie, have a cookie, drink a beer, throw axes, fight cancer, AND save money if you choose to sign up to roll with us in September. The choice is yours, but the choice is clear. We hope to see you there!


Save the date for our main event this year, once again to be held in beautiful South Bowl, on Saturday, September 21, 2019. Registration is now open, and a great deal at $350 per team, but even more so if you sign up before 6/24 at the early bird rate of $300 per team! New for 2019: With this being the start of a new fundraising season, we have a new goal, and this year The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society is tasking us to raise $70,000 for the cause. We had so much enthusiasm last year that we have no doubt we can crush this goal. To help us do that, we are introducing a NEW fundraising requirement. You must fundraise a minimum of $100 to bowl, but with that, we are also introducing some awesome new fundraising rewards, like official TDHC hoodies and bathrobes! Join us at kickoff to learn more!
