Friends, thank you for your support of The Dude Hates Cancer 2013! On September 21st, over 300 cancer-haters from as close as Northern Liberties and as far away as San Diego came together at North Bowl for a wonderful day of bowling and night of dancing. Because of your generosity and support, we are pleased to announce that nearly $60,000 has been raised in 2013 for Philly!
Every dollar raised goes to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society to further their mission: to cure blood cancers and improve the quality of life of patients and their families. Because of your support, we are able to continue to fund these initiatives right here in Eastern Pennsylvania. A big shout-out goes to all of our fantastic teams for the very un-Dude hard work and fundraising dedication. Whether you raised $20 or $2,000, signed up a team, or sent in money from afar, your efforts made a difference to the people fighting cancer in the laboratory and in the hospital.
We want to recognize our generous sponsors: PricewaterhouseCoopers, US Foods, Binder & Canno, Blank Rome, BrainDo, CVS Caremark, Fraser, and JMS Technology. The in-kind support from City Paper, PHL17, Linds, Uber, and Yards was truly appreciated as well, and from all of the contributing businesses and restaurants who donated prizes. Our gratitude goes out to North Bowl for providing us with a perfect home once again, and to the awesome bands who volunteered their talents at the after party. TDHC would not be possible if it were not for all of these collective efforts.
This year, we’re keeping the Dude campaign going beyond our flagship bowling tournament. Don’t say goodbye to your teammates until next year! After all, any time of the year is a good time to hate cancer.

Cancer affects all of us. Our goal at The Dude Hates Cancer is to raise money that will lead to a cure for these diseases. LLS is making significant progress towards that goal, and survival rates are increasing every year. In short, your money is saving lives. Lives like that of our honorary hero, Brent Evans.
As you'll see below, Brent isn't just grateful for the second chance that treatments developed through LLS research have provided him, he's paying it forward.
Brent Evans is a Compliance Analyst for Thomas Jefferson University Hospital and a graduate of West Virginia University. Brent is currently attending Thomas Jefferson University for his graduate degree.
As a survivor of Stage IV Hepatosplenic T-cell non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma and an allogeneic bone marrow transplant, Brent joined the Man & Woman of the Year campaign to become further involved with The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Aside from raising funds throughout the campaign, Brent would also like to use this unique opportunity for clinical trial advocacy, raise more awareness of blood cancer and educate others on stem cell transplants, bone marrow transplants and survivorship.
Brent is involved with the Thomas Jefferson University Hospital Blood and Marrow Transplant support group and has been involved with several cancer-related fundraising initiatives, including “Rally for a Rockstar.” Brent currently resides in East Falls, PA and his hobbies include snowboarding and cycling.
